About the Student Placement Program
Reservoir Neighbourhood House offers a Student Placement Program for students studying Community Services, Community Development, Social Work, and Psychology. The placement program introduces students to a busy drop-in centre where we provide food relief, material aid, and social programs to the East Reservoir community.
Student Availability
In order to provide continuous service to our community, student placements are required to attend Mondays and Tuesdays, with optional flexibility for Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Requirements
Prospective student placements must:
- Interview to ensure suitability for our neighbourhood house
- Provide a resume/CV and Working with Children Check
- Be reliable and punctual
- Express cultural sensitivity and humility
- Be able to lift and bend (e.g. 10kg boxes of food)
- Have administrative skills (e.g. computer and data entry, answer phone calls, print documents)
- Ideal but not required: ability to speak Arabic, Mandarin, Persian
